Review of the iPhone 13 Pro Max:

For a lot of money, you get a lot of phone! In 2021, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is as amazing as a smartphone gets. Read on to learn how.
Apple's advances take place on the Pro iPhone. The iPhone 13 Mini has already shown to be a reliable smartphone this year, and the Pro takes things to the next level. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is the pinnacle of Apple's smartphone lineup, representing the pinnacle of what a smartphone should be today. We feel the same way.

This iPhone 13 Pro Max appears to be a worthy "Promotion" over its predecessor, with all new cameras and a smoother display. Especially if you choose the iPhone 13 Pro, which has all of the highlights crammed into a human-sized body. The Pro Max starts at $1290, and the model I have includes 512GB of storage, which costs $1590.

iPhone 13 Pro Max Design review

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has the same basic design as the standard iPhone 13, with the exception that everything is bigger and shinier. There is no other phone that attracts as much attention as this one, especially if you have it in silver, as I do. The matte white back complements the flat steel sides, which sparkle like a mirror. The larger cameras complement the Pro Max's larger proportions, and with their blingy chrome rings, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a fashion and social statement.

Although it lacks any practical benefit from iOS, the lower notch provides more eye relief. You've got some weight to tote along at 238 grams. DO NOT stow this in your trouser pocket unless you have your belt fastened.

iPhone 13 Pro Max Display review

Apple has lavished love on the iPhone 13 Pro Max's display, which is more than just a thicker glass. The ProMotion function from iPad Pro devices is now available, implying that the screen would refresh at 120Hz, similar to many Android phones. This is a variable refresh rate system, thus it chooses the appropriate refresh rate based on the content type. As a result, every interaction appears and feels more natural; I didn't see any screen tearing.

Review of the iPhone 13 Pro Max's Performance

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is potentially the quickest smartphone on the market, thanks to a more powerful version of the A15 Bionic CPU. The five-core GPU destroys its nearest rival, the iPhone 12 Pro Max from last year. However, for a typical person like you and me, everything appear to be normal.

With the exception of smoother animations, the iPhone 13 Pro Max can perform all of these tasks as well as the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and even the iPhone 11. iOS 15 is completely optimized for this phone, so whether I was scrolling through Instagram for hours or keeping up with pals on Call of Duty: Mobile, this iPhone handled it with ease. After a while, it does grow warm around the edges and around the camera, but it is never uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, not many games currently take advantage of the 120Hz frame rate, thus this iPhone isn't being used to its best capacity while gaming. Even yet, if you play a lot of games, everything runs smoothly at 60Hz, from Genshin Impact to F1 Mobile Racing and other titles. When compared to a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Pro Max's easy performance mocks it.

My only disappointment is that I'm still using the same old operating system. On an iPhone 13 Mini, iOS 15 is identical to iOS 15 on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I wish Apple had included some special features for Pro users, such as more customization options, a unique theme, or a more sophisticated design. Currently, the only extras are six live wallpapers. Furthermore, if you're coming from Android, iOS feels constraining in many ways, and there's a learning curve to overcome.

Cameras on the iPhone 13 Pro Max

This is a critical feature for Pro iPhone purchasers, and Apple has a sufficient number of newcomers to keep them engaged. On the back, new and larger Sony sensors have been installed in the 12MP primary, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP telephoto cameras. I'm not going to repeat Apple's marketing material because you can get it on their website. What I will joyfully say is that the iPhone 13 Pro Max has one of, if not the finest, camera on a phone today.

In daylight, the main wide camera captures rich color tones and excellent exposure management. The photographs are brighter and more vivid than those taken with the iPhone 13 Mini's camera. It still underexposes against the light in some situations, but Photographic Styles can assist; I was able to brighten up the dreary parts and even amp up the colors to my liking.

The ultra-wide and telephoto cameras perform similarly, with excellent color consistency and no discernible loss of sharpness. With no discernible loss in image quality, the ultra-wide can now take macro photos.

The only time these cameras differ is at night. The main camera is still the best choice since it retains the dynamic range with natural-looking colors, acceptable exposures, sufficient details, and effective noise suppression. The same cannot be true for the other two cameras, which both lose color consistency and produce grain when compared to the main camera. In some cameras, even extended exposures aren't enough to save the day.

As long as you don't go over 7x magnification, the telephoto camera performs admirably. This is the best zoom camera I've seen so far, with a 3X zoom. Brighter exposures are difficult for the ultrawide camera.

The same level of performance can be found in videos, but everything you shoot with this phone will look fantastic. This iPhone's video processing is unrivaled, with tremendous dynamic, amazing exposure performance, and incomparable clarity, especially at night, whether in 4K 60 fps or 1080p 30 fps. These cameras will not let you down if you are a professional videographer. Cinematic mode is entertaining to use, but it's just a gimmick; perhaps Insta Reels users will figure it out.
You'll enjoy the selfies as well. In daylight, the 12MP front camera produces excellent photos, but the smaller sensor lacks the details found on the Samsung S21 Ultra. Under high sunlight, I also saw overexposed faces and a lot of grains, as well as soft details in low light. There is a cinematic mode on this one as well, albeit the quality could be better.

Review of the iPhone 13 Pro Max Battery

All iPhone 13 models feature larger batteries, with the Pro Max gaining 18% more capacity. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is a true 2-day phone, thanks to the combination of a more efficient A15 CPU, an efficient display, and a larger battery. It's difficult to kill this phone before the end of the day if you're not playing games, and there's still enough juice to last you through the evening. On ordinary business days, I averaged 10.5 hours of screen usage using a combination of Wi-Fi and LTE.

The slow 20W charging is less of a worry with such a long battery life. The battery takes roughly 1.5 hours to charge, and if you set it on the MagSafe, it will sit for much longer (and get hotter). For faster and more effective charging, I recommend using a wired charger. And only buy the 20W Apple charging adapter; don't risk hurting the battery by using non-MFi compliant third-party chargers to get the rumored 27W speed.
