Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G review: One fine experience

this review for india( other country price may be different but features is same)

In India, most mid-range phones are focusing on the complete experience rather than the raw specs. Isn't that a sign of a mature market? Xiaomi is aware of our preferences, and every now and then, it likes to set trends in the lower price ranges. Following the well-received Mi 11 Lite 4G, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G appears to be keen to boost the ante without making substantial concessions this time.
On paper, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G looks appealing thanks to a Qualcomm 5G chip and a Dolby Vision-compatible display. It does in person as well, once you see how light and slim it is. It also appears to be a nice break from the ambitious (and somewhat impractical) want tobe gaming phones, with prices starting at $269.

Is Xiaomi able to charm the demanding Indian consumer with phones like the Samsung Galaxy M52, iQOO Z5, and Realme GT Master Edition? After living with a Diamond Dazzle Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, I got the answers.

Review of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Design

The main design of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE is identical to that of its 4G cousin. As a result, these two phones are indistinguishable save for the Diamond Dazzle color and the little 5G branding. Its weight of 158 grams puts it in the same weight category as the iPhone 13, making it one of the lightest smartphones available today.

The construction quality is not compromised by the lightness. The back is made of glass rather than plastic, and the matte paint job helps to hide smudges. With its sparkly back, the Diamond Dazzle variant seems expensive, but the pink variant complements this design better. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE stands out among its monotonous looking competitors because to its cutesy spherical camera hump and almost bezel-less display.

Despite the small size, a dual speaker system and a USB-C port are included. Despite the lack of a headphone jack, Xiaomi includes a dongle in the box. The packaging also includes a flexible plastic casing and a charger.

Review of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Display

Xiaomi's bragging rights stem from Netflix's support for the Dolby Vision format. Unfortunately, due to a lack of a subscription, I was unable to witness this, but the display quality in general is among the finest in this class. On the 6.5-inch display, you get that standard high contrast AMOLED look with eye-popping colors, and it makes for a great viewing experience. The small camera notch and low bezels further contribute to the immersion.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, like the 4G variant, is limited to a refresh rate of 90Hz. Although it appears to be fairly fluid, the competitor provides a quicker 120Hz display, which is noticeable. Despite the Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a plastic screen shield is included, which is a nice touch given that competitor brands are cutting in-box content.

Performance of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE is a quick phone in every way, thanks to the Snapdragon 778G processor. Even under the most demanding conditions, the phone never ran out of breath, despite a heavily skinned MIUI 12.5. Whether I spent hours scrolling through Instagram or read through my emails while listening to music in the background, the phone handled everything with ease. The performance improvements in MIUI 12.5 are evident when compared to the previous version; smooth animations, quick app loads, and app memory retention — the optimisation is excellent.

MI on this phone provides a quality experience, with no pesky third-party apps pre-installed that love to clog the notifications. There are hundreds of personalization possibilities to experiment with, particularly the elegant fonts, themes, and icon packs. When Google's own Play store refuses to install or update programs, having the GetApps store is a godsend. The Control Center makes it easier to access settings, but I wish Xiaomi had streamlined notifications in the same way that stock Android does.

Even after a few hours of Call of Duty: Mobile over the weekend, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE appears at home in High graphics with High frame rates. Unoptimized games like F1 Mobile Racing and Asphalt 9 Legends don't look amazing, but that's a problem with the Snapdragon 778G in general. The Mi 11X is unquestionably a better gaming phone, but the Lite version isn't bad either if you only play casually.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE's attractiveness among long-term customers is only reinforced by the guarantee of three Android OS upgrades and four years of security fixes. No other phone in its class boasts as much about its long-term support as Xiaomi does.

There are 12 5G bands supported here, but we could only test 4G LTE at the present. The phone tested well in terms of connectivity strength on Jio's network. The call quality was fine via the earpiece, and the loudspeaker volume was adequate, but I would have preferred it to be louder.

Review of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Camera

The camera arrangement is the same as the Mi 11 Lite 4G, with a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and Xiaomi's superbly calibrated 5-megapixel macro camera. Photos taken in daylight have a higher saturation and contrast by default, with the brightness set up. There are a lot of details and a lot of noise suppression. The shadows are sometimes masked, but the overall effect is pleasing.

The camera struggles with color, detail, and exposure retention in low light. The only way to regain some clarity and more light is to switch to night mode. In difficult settings, it works admirably for a phone of this price. The color science of the ultra-wide camera is slightly different, and it tends to saturate colors even more and reduce exposures. However, it works fine as long as you give it enough light.

The macro camera, which is in a class by itself, is the most impressive feature. The amount of detail it captures is incredible, and it's enjoyable to shoot macro with such a wide dynamic range.

For the most part, the 20-megapixel front camera is sufficient. It produces sharp images with plenty of facial details and textures when all beauty modes are turned off. However, the dynamic range is limited, and the photographs have a washed-out color tone. The Portrait option provides excellent subject separation, however it greatly smooths the skin. Again, for the price, this phone is excellent in every way.

The video quality isn't all that different, with Xiaomi's trademark high contrast and saturated colors boosting the overall appearance. Although you can only record in 4K at 30 frames per second, the overall video quality is adequate. Xiaomi includes a variety of additional modes to experiment with, including Vlog mode, short video, movie effects, and more, some of which are actually enjoyable to use. In favorable lighting, try the long exposure and Parallel world modes.

Review of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Battery

On paper, the 4250mAh battery appears to be insufficient, but don't be deceived. The Snapdragon 778G's power efficiency, together with MIUI 12.5's energy management, ensures that the battery lasts all day. In my moderate usage pattern, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE usually has 25-30% battery life left at the end of the day.

As a result, you may easily use this phone all day if you watch YouTube or online programs for up to 2 hours on average, text on WhatsApp, surf social media, and use the camera sometimes.

Furthermore, with the 33W charger, the phone was frequently ready to use within an hour. The charging speeds aren't the fastest I've seen in this segment, but that doesn't matter (certainly better than the 15W charger Samsung bundles as standard).

Verdict

the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G has to fight with some feature-rich rivals. The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, iQOO Z5, Motorola Edge 20, and Realme GT Master Edition are all excellent phones with intriguing features at more appealing rates. Xiaomi, unlike in the past, does not have a price advantage and must rely primarily on its product to sell itself.

Because price is no longer a major selling feature, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE is recommended simply for its ability to provide a good overall experience. The thin and lightweight design, as well as one of the best-tuned camera systems in this sector, play a big influence in our decision. The performance is competitive, and the all-day battery adds to the benefits. For a change, this is very "un-Xiaomi-like," and while that may represent a risk to Xiaomi's business, I admire Xiaomi as a critic and tech fan.

Should you purchase it? I'm determined to test it out at the nearest Xiaomi store. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE is designed for folks who simply want a great and fine smartphone experience, not just a spec sheet to brag about. We can't think of anything better to recommend unless you believe in the age-old adage that "bigger/more is better."
